On the EU day of languages, I had the chance of teaching my classmates the native language of my mother, Thai. It was difficult in the beginning trying to recall a language I haven´t spoken in a long time. I found it more difficult than learning all the new languages I learned in the meantime but it´s mainly due to the fact Thai is not a Latin originated language and so it´s difficult to even recall the basics of it even though I was learning it from a young age. In the end I sort of caught up to my old level of Thai speaking but I´m still nowhere near to even being a novice Thai speaker but it did the job on allowing me to teach my classmates some basic phrases of the language. It was a pleasant experience, when I finally finished my lesson, I was surprised by the fact that I actually made it!!
I was not expecting the class to react in the way they did and that they would learn even faster than I even did! It was such a blessing for my soul to know that I helped someone or even maybe more than one to learn any kind of knowledge, either on Thai or that not everyone is cut out to learn any language..!
